Pou Oranga Whaiora is a kaupapa Māori alcohol and other drug (AOD) service delivered by Te Pou Oranga o Te Whakatōhea in partnership with the Eastern Bay Iwi Provider Alliance.
 

Together, we support tāngata whaiora and their whānau across the Eastern Bay of Plenty through a holistic approach that integrates clinical expertise with mātauranga Māori. Our focus is not simply recovery from addiction, but restoring wellbeing, strengthening identity, and creating lasting pathways towards Whānau Ora.
 

Grounded in the values of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and whakapapa, we walk alongside whānau as they reconnect with themselves, their whānau, their culture and their future.

Nestled within the natural surroundings of Ōpōtiki, Kōpūārau provides a safe, supported environment for those requiring residential care during their recovery journey.

More than accommodation, Kōpūārau offers a place of healing where connection to whenua, wairua and whakapapa becomes part of the recovery process. Surrounded by the ngahere, awa and moana, the environment itself supports restoration, reflection and renewed purpose.
