Community Job Coaching

At Te Pou Oranga o Te Whakatōhea, our Community Job Coaching service is an iwi-led employment pathway designed to empower rangatahi and young adults to achieve their employment goals and build positive futures.

Grounded in kaupapa Māori values, we walk alongside participants and their whānau to identify strengths, build confidence, develop workplace skills, and create clear pathways into employment.

Every journey is unique, which is why our approach is tailored to the individual, providing personalised coaching and support that meets people where they are.

Through one-on-one coaching, co-designed employment plans, and practical wraparound support, we help remove barriers that may stand in the way of employment. We also work closely with local employers, training providers, and MSD to connect participants with real opportunities that align with their aspirations and strengths.

Our commitment extends beyond helping rangatahi find a job. We focus on creating pathways that strengthen tuakiri, honour whakapapa, and contribute to the wellbeing of whānau and hāpori. Participants receive ongoing in-work mentoring and support for up to 12 months, helping them settle into employment, grow their confidence, and achieve long-term success.
