Te āheinga - The opportunity:
Based in our Whakatōhea Health Centre as part of the general practice team, (opportunity to work in a mix of on-site and/or online) the General Practitioner (GP) is a qualified and registered medical professional. You will be responsible for providing patient centered, culturally appropriate and individual holistic care to our patients.
Working alongside our nursing and health care team, you will provide clinical guidance, assistance, education, and support.
Ngā Kawenga me ngā Mahi – Duties & responsibilities:

Provide primary care services inclusive of urgent medical: resuscitation, stabilisation, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prescribed and referral.

Appropriate evidence-based screening, risk assessment and early detection of illness, disease, and disability.

Interventions to assist people reduce or change potentially harmful lifestyle behavior.

Provide family planning services, provision of contraceptive advice and sexual health services.

Ensure immunisation programs are available.

Work with public health providers in the prevention and control of communicable diseases.

Provide on-going care and support for people with chronic and terminal conditions.

Coordination of individual rehabilitation processes.

Develop relationships with community health services, DHB and non-Government public health providers, ACC, and non-health agencies.

Provide off-site care as and when required.

Ensure all patient services are charged, and patient notes are processed.
Ngā wheako me ngā pūkenga - Experience & Skills required:

Relevant medical qualification and registration.

Compliance and proven working experience within a medical practice.

Previous experience using MedTech, or a similar system.
-
Strong relationship building skills, within a diverse but predominantly Māori community.

The ability to uphold confidentiality, privacy and health and safety protocols.
-
Commitment to upholding the integrity of our uara/values.
-
Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
-
Knowledge of Te Whakatōhea me ona tikanga would be highly regarded.
