ECE Manager
Te āheinga - The opportunity:
Reporting to the Education Group Manager of Te Pou Oranga o Te Whakatōhea Charitable Trust, the centre manager will fulfil the role of professional leader by managing, motivating and supporting the teaching team to ensure we meet centre compliance and operational requirements.
Ngā Kawenga me ngā Mahi – Duties & responsibilities:

End to end management of the ECE and its employees

Lead the development and review of Centre teaching programs and procedures and provide professional leadership and management to the team

Ensure compliance with the ECE Code of Ethics among the teaching team
-
Completion of reports and record keeping for the Ministry of Education

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of current approaches to effective teaching and learning across the curriculum
-
Develop knowledge and support the teaching team in the use of Te Reo, tikanga Māori, Treaty of Waitangi and Whakatōheatanga

Establish and foster relationships with and between teachers, whānau and children
Ngā wheako me ngā pūkenga - Experience & Skills required:
-
A recognised Early Childhood Education Qualification Diploma of Teaching (ECE) or Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (ECE), current practice certificate with full teacher registration

Previous experience in a similar role, as a Team Lead or Manager within Education
-
Experience developing education and work development programs, within a Kaupapa Māori context.

Excellent communication and writing skills

Commitment to continually improve work performance, processes and procedures

Knowledge of Te Whakatōhea me ona tikanga would be highly regarded
