Wharekawa
Initiated in 2014, Wharekawa offers a diverse Kaupapa Māori range of educational and cultural programs designed to support rangatahi in achieving aspirational success.
Wharekawa is dedicated to providing opportunities for rangatahi to thrive in all areas of their lives. Through a positive, holistic environment, we aim to instil confidence and foster a strong sense of belonging.
Our Approach
We believe a supportive and holistic environment for Māori education is achieved through collaboration among schools, whānau, Iwi, and other community-integrated services. Working together creates a framework where rangatahi can flourish academically, culturally, and personally.
Te whare hei kawe i o moemoea, i o wawata hei poutikanga, poutokomanawa, pouwhakawhirinaki mo Whakatōhea. Our vision is to unleash the dreams and beliefs of our youth through kaupapa Māori practices, empowering them to become leaders in their own right.
Our Programs
Wharekawa offers various programs that cater to the unique needs and aspirations of our rangatahi. These programs are designed to:
-
Build confidence in cultural identity and practices
-
Foster academic and personal growth
-
Encourage leadership and community involvement
Join Us
