Tiaki Taiao
As Kaitiaki, it is our responsibility to provide leadership and guidance for the following areas: Pest Control, Weed Control, Wetland and Freshwater Restoration, Marae Restoration, Track Maintenance, Hapū Wānanga. By actively participating, we ensure that we are involved and included in conversations and projects that align with our vision and purpose. To grow and invest in the well-being of our people. We are guardians.
Te Ihi Ka Roa
Translates to the "Long Lasting Essential Force" in this forever developing world, the knowledge and skills that our tamariki, rangatahi and whānau will learn through the Te Ihi Ka Roa programme is the way of the future as we continuously learn and grow. Building a digital Nation - Whakatōhea has a dream to "Build a Digital Nation", a nation that can and will be at the forefront of digital technology. The advancement of economic and social opportunities within the region.

Digital Markers for Indigenous communities to add local protocols for access and use as kaitiaki to our digital cultural heritage. An educational tool to help non-community users who view the materials better understand their significance and importance.

Tohekura
The Tohekura is for all levels of competency in Te Reo, from beginners to advanced. We encourage you to register regardless of your level of fluency in Te Reo; all participants have the opportunity to learn.
With limited numbers available, we advise getting in quick. You have the opportunity to stay at the Marae of choice with all meals provided.
Learning takes place at the Marae but is also encouraged over the wānanga.
Tohekura: Kura Reo is for adults aged 18 and over of Whakatōhea descent or people with a strong affiliation to the iwi. We will accept registrations from those who can attend the full four-day wānanga from start to finish.
Rautaki Reo
This survey aims to evaluate the current reo ability and use within the home, marae, Kura and broader community to help inform any future support and contributions
towards the revitalisation and strengthening of te reo Māori within those mentioned above.
