UPDATED WHAKATŌHEA RĀHUI
Tēnā koutou katoa,
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the two remaining lost souls who are yet still unaccounted for.
With this tragedy before us, we remain committed to supporting the rāhui until December the 23rd.
This means no fishing or gathering of kaimoana in the Whakatōhea rohe Moana which extends from Te Koko o Ohiwa to Tarakeha. This does not include our rivers, Waioweka or Otara.
Other activities such as swimming, kayaking, and boating which are not related to kaimoana gathering and fishing will be permissible after
Friday 20, 2019.
We are very thankful to all our whānau members who have shown their respect for our cultural Tikanga and will continue to support in any way.
