Social & Health Services
Whakatōhea Health Centre
The Whakatōhea Health Centre is owned by the Whakatōhea Iwi and its mission is to provide the best general practice medical care efficiently, cost effectively and in a culturally appropriate manner. It is important that primary health care for Māori is Māori based otherwise the emphasis on improving the health for our own people is lost.
Services provided at the health centre include:
- General Practitioner (doctor) services
- Nurse clinics - Diabetes checks, blood tests, contraception.
- Accidents and medical emergency - provision for minor accident and medical acute services.
If you would like to make an appointment to see the doctor or nurse please contact the health centre on 07 315 6126.
Whakatōhea Iwi Social and Health Services (W.I.S.H)
W.I.S.H was initiated by the Board (through Te Wheke Atawhai) to address the changing needs of our community. All services incorporate Tika, Pono and Aroha through service delivery. All the people within our service endeavour to assist and empower whānau to make healthy choices for a healthy future.
