What is Family Start?
Family Start is a home visiting programme that focuses on
improving children's growth and health, learning and
relationships, family circumstances, environment and
safety. It helps families/whānau who are struggling
with challenges or problems that may make it harder
for them to care for their baby or young child.

We want to help give children the best start in life
it can be a challenge when having a baby but
getting help during the hard times can be really
important to nurture the whole whānau.

Family Start is a service provided by Te Pou Oranga
O Whakatōhea. The qualified team members will provide
a confidential and private service that is tailored to
address and meet the specific needs of each whānau
we work with.

We pride ourselves on delivering a quality of
services and empowering our whānau
to attain and maintain optimal health and well-being.

We offer to you expert knowledge and skill sets to
