Whakatōhea Māori Trust Board Meetings
Full Whakatōhea Māori Trust Board meetings are held every second month at the Trust Board Offices. Whakatōhea Fisheries Trust meetings in most instances occur on the same day as the Full Board meetings.
The Board's Audit & Finance Committee has quarterly meetings in March, June, September and December.
Working Parties are project dependant and meet as and when required.

Hapū and Marae Meetings
Each hapū and marae have monthly meetings. To find out when your marae is holding its meeting, contact the secretary of your marae's committee. Their details can be found on the contacts page or click here.
Whakatōhea Events
Muriwai Tournament
Every year Whakatōhea return home to compete in the annual Muriwai Tournament. A sporting extravaganza of netball and rugby prominence, teams come home to Ōpōtiki from throughout the motu to rekindle their Whānau links, celebrate their hapū and try to win the ultimate prize as supreme champions for the year. The Muriwai Tournament promotes Whānau wellbeing, Hapū celebration and Iwi achievement. The date for 2011's tournament is yet to be confirmed, however it is normally scheduled near the end of September or the begining of October. The confirmed date will be posted on this website, so check back regularly.
2011 Trust Board Elections
2011 is an important year for the Trust Board with the triennial Board elections taking place. Those beneficiaries who are registered on the tribal database will be eligible to vote in elections. Key dates to keep in mind for the election process include:
- Nominations open for 2011 Triennial Elections - Mid August
- Nominations close - Mid September
- Voting papers delivered to registered members - Mid October
- Voting closes - Mid November 2011
